Skiddaw Lodge No.1002 Banner Dedication

Skiddaw Lodge No.1002 Banner Dedication
The November meeting of Skiddaw Lodge 1002 in Cockermouth celebrated the Dedication of their new Banner 85 masons attended the event to see the Provincial Grand Master R.W. Bro Norman James Thompson and the Officers of Provincial Grand Lodge carry out the Ceremony of Dedication during which the banner was paraded around the Lodge by Past Master of Skiddaw Lodge W.Bro. Norman Pitts the honour of parading the banner was originally planned to be that of W.Bro. George Wise a senior member of the Lodge who on the evening was resting a broken arm. The banner is a replacement for an original which has now become somewhat decayed a photograph dated 1902 showing that banner and the Lodge members of that era is proudly displayed in the Lodge room at Cockermouth and dated 1902 the new banner is a replica of that first design.
