A capacity audience assembled in Keswick on Friday 15 March where Cumbria Lodge of Installed Commanders, No.1466 were celebrating their 25th Anniversary. The Lodge was opened by WBro Eric Holmes, WCN and RW Bro Keith Hodgson, PGM was then admitted to the Lodge along with an escort of Provincial Officers. RW Bro Hodgson accepted the Sceptre from WBro Holmes and assumed the Chair. There was then a further report at the door and MW Bro John Hale, PastProGM was admitted.
Following the reading of the Warrant of the Lodge by WBro Peter Sacre, WBro Holmes read a list of the Founders, eight of which were present on the evening, namely; WBro’s John Manchester, Bill McKay, Mike Minshaw, Jim Postlethwaite, Adam McCracken, Eddie McCall, Douglas Hodgson and John Benson. The brethren were called order and the Founders present received suitable acclamation. WBro Douglas Sanderson continued proceedings by giving a short history of the Lodge which was followed by an Oration delivered by the Deputy Chaplain WBro David Fallowfield. RW Bro Keith Hodgson then addressed the Brethren prior to the closing of the Lodge and adjournment to a splendid Festive Board.
