The festive season is upon us and I would like to extend my greetings and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year. I also wish you very special seasonal celebrations with your families and friends.
This has been a very special year for me having been appointed Pr Gr M and Pr Gr Sup in September. I have been delighted by the reports of my visiting Grand and Provincial officers and Wardens of their lodge visits, detailed glowing reports of their welcome, the excellence of your ceremonies, lodge meetings and your excellent company at the festive board. I have always felt that warmth and friendship wherever I have visited and you Brethren have always tried your best to pursue that masonic ideal.
We are a large organisation and whilst we are enjoying and celebrating our role in the society we live, there are those who have lost loved ones and fellow brethren who they have known as brothers most of their lives, we must think of them at this festive time. We have brethren who have recently lost their wives and lifelong partners who we must also keep in our thoughts and be ready to help when they are ready for us to do so. Being their friend and brother is what they will need most. Our families are the most important thing for us to nurture and celebrate, including our masonic family where you Brethren of this province are the personification of all that freemasons should be.
I could not be a prouder man than to represent you as your Provincial Grand Master and Provincial Grand Superintendent at UGLE or other Provincial meetings. We have an excellent provincial team from the Deputy Provincial Master down and they are well respected wherever we go, I am immensely proud of them.
Brethren with the new modernising initiatives promoted by UGLE and your dedication and commitment we will have a merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.
When Jennifer and I are sitting down at the Christmas table with our family I will quietly raise a glass to the continued good health of you all.
