2021 Provincial Late-Summer Ball

On the 23rd of September, The Castle Green Hotel at Kendal was the venue for the 2021 Provincial Late-Summer Ball. The ball was a great success with over 170 attendees from all over the province.

The principal guests at the Ball were David Beeby, High Sheriff of Cumbria, Mrs Marcia Reid-Fotheringham JP, Deputy Lieutenant and many NHS, Frontline Workers, Social Care and Support Staff, who all were acknowledged and thanked by the Provincial Grand Master, for all their dedication and support during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Provincial Grand Master, Bill Bewley presented all the principal guests, including all the NHS, Frontline Workers, Social Care and Support Staff with a teddy from the fantastic initiative ‘Teddys for loving care’.

This year marked a great milestone with this initiative with the 3 millionth teddy bear being presented as part of the ‘Teddies for loving car’. The work of TLC (Teddies for loving care) is funded through the generous donations of Freemasons and their families. Many Freemasons also volunteer hundreds of hours each year to manage the scheme, deliver bears to hospitals, campaign to raise funds and increase awareness through events and talks.

TLC is a wonderful example of how Freemasonry can work in the community and make a small, but important difference. This gesture by the province was a great way to mark this great milestone!
