Last night at the Lodge of Friendship No 8275, meeting at Cleator Moor Masonic centre, they received a fraternal visit from a large deputation of the brethren of Custodes Copiae Lodge No. 9430, the Province’s Provincial Grand Stewards’ Lodge. The WM of Custodes Copiae, W. Bro. Robert Gatenby, is a member of Lodge of Friendship and it was a marvellous sight to see so many red aprons supporting him on the night. W. Bro. Mark Edmiston gave a talk entitled “Stewards, Red Aprons and Custodes Copiae” which was well received by the brethren.
After the meeting everyone retired for a meal, followed by a presentation of a handmade glass plate to WBro. William Morley BEM.
Mr Morley has been an integral part of a meeting held every year called the Friendship Gathering, where all the lodges of the same name from throughout the country meet, this year the gathering was held at Leicester . Due to family commitments Mr Morley was unable to attend and so the organiser sent back a presentation plate to be given to him to thank him for all his work over the years. Tonight he was presented with this gift By Jeff Kane, which was very well received. All in all, a successful and enjoyable night and fraternal visit.
