WCLIM Welcomes Buckinghamshire Brethren

West Cumberland Lodge of Installed Masters had a full evening as the PGM W. Bro Nick Wilson, Deputy PGM Keith Beaumont and APGM’s John Fielding and David Bowden and officers of Provincial Grand Lodge attended a unique meeting.

After being welcomed by the WM, W.Bro. Jim Geering, members of the Provincial Team and all present were enthralled with a very impressive presentation of the First Degree Tracing Board Lecture by seven brethren from Lewis Lodge No. 872. The team consisted of W. Bro’s Mark Edmiston, David O’Connell, Luke Jackson, Paul Reid, George Clements, Carl Basso and Paul Rose. This is something of a speciality of Lewis Lodge and includes extra sections from the Green Emulation Book. W. Bro. MarkEdmiston presented an additional explanation of the Lewis apparatus.

At the festive board the PGM and WM welcomed brethren and two of their ladies from the province of Buckinghamshire who were concluding an initiative of visiting four lodges in four different countries in four days. This remarkable effortwas to raise £5,000 as part of their contribution to the Armed Forces Covenant. The PGM was delighted that the province of Cumberland & Westmorland was chosen to represent the “England” leg of this tour and presented W. Bro Steve Pratt with £500 and this was supplemented further with donations from the WM and brethren of WCLIM following a well-supported “Chorley Raffle” – which was something of a unique experience for our Buckinghamshire Brethren.

W.Bro.Pratt in response to the visitors toast explained he was now confident that they would reach and exceed this target thanks to the generosity of our province and the brethren of the WCLIM.

In all a very enjoyable evening of Masonic fellowship with new friendships made with our Buckinghamshire brethren once again cementing our aims of “Building Friendships and Serving Communities”
