Appleby Freemasons support MS Society

Members of Appleby’s Vale of Eden Lodge donated £300, the proceeds of a collection taken at the Installation of new Worshipful Master John Bell, to the MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Society. Accepting the cheque on behalf of the Society, Ms Teresa Attwood, Joint Co-ordinator of the Society’s East Cumbria Group, said how grateful they were to receive the donation: “The Multiple Sclerosis Society’s East Cumbria Group provides support for all the region’s MS sufferers through grants, social networking, exercise groups and outdoor activities. We rely on donations like this to help with all our work and to raise awareness so that we can help to reduce the psychological impact on sufferers and assist them not just with their mobility, but also by offering the opportunity for social interaction.”
MS Society was chosen as the recipient of the collection because the lodge’s new Worshipful Master has a close friend who is an MS sufferer.
