Are you interested in Fishing and Freemasonry ? We now have a Specialist Lodge that might just suit you.

Last weekend  saw a  unique and very special occasion in the life of the Province of Cumberland & Westmorland Freemasons.  A new specialist lodge with its foundations in The Masonic Fishing Charity, was  consecrated Called the  Northern Lodge of Opportunity No 10082.

It was an early start too for the Provincial Grand Master and Consecrating Officer, Nicholas Blake Wilson accompanied by his provincial team of officers; all operating under the ever-watchful eye of Provincial Director of Ceremonies, Lee Irwin.

The PGM Nicholas Blake Wilson gave an address and presented the Warrant and constitution .  He spoke to all the members recommending the exercise of care, excellence, warmth and tolerance as well as light, learning, friendship and mutual support.

Lodge founder and craftsman Bob Reeves presented the Provincial Grand Master with a hand made walking stick that features an antler handle-top to the stick.  The PGM was extremely grateful for this gift and thanked Bob for his generosity and skill. Bob had also made all the lodge wands from redundant fishing rods by adding the silver heads of each respective office

A meal after was a very pleasant two course lunch of Lamb Henry, potatoes and seasonal vegetables followed by sticky toffee pudding and custard.

A very nice speech was given by David Linger as the Deputy CEO of the Masonic Fishing Charity commending the work of the northern provinces in their support and development of this very important fishing charity
