Cumberland & Westmorland Freemasons Sign up to Armed Forces Covenant

On Friday 10th December, The Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master, William John Bewley, Accompanied by his Deputy, Bill Morley and his Assistants, Ian St John D’Arcy and Keith Beaumont attended the event at Carlisle Castle Museum of Military Life. They were joined  by Vice Lord Lieutenant, the Lord lnglewood, Commander Burns, Colonel McMullen & Captain Reynold, Air Commodore Smith and Wing Commander Smith.

The Covenant signed by both William Bewley and Captain Peter Reynolds, The Duke of Lancasters Regiment demonstrates the Province’s  support of both active and retired members of the armed forces and their families in a number of areas, including education, family wellbeing, getting a home, starting a new career, access to healthcare, financial assistance and discounted services. During the ceremony, William Bewley said, “This document demonstrates our intention to fully support those who serve, and supports our long established ethos to do so. It reinforces our commitment by the signing of this covenant today to support both those who have served, and their families”.

During the ceremony William Bewley made a donation to the Museum of Military Life.
