The 2nd East Lakes 5 Mile Challenge took place today (23rd June) at Keswick. The Event was hosted by last years winners Derwentwater Lodge, and was supported by six East Lakes Lodges as well as Skiddaw Lodge from Cockermouth. The walk started with a cruise on Derwentwater walking back to the Masonic Hall along the lake shore path. Families and friends gave great support to the event which was enjoyed by all. A buffet followed the walk with the bar open at Keswick Masonic Hall. The original idea of the event was to bring Masons and their families together in friendship and this was very evident during the event with old friendships enjoyed and new ones made.
A grand total of just over £1400.00 was raised for local charity was presented to this years winners Belted Will Lodge, by the Worshipful Master of Derwentwater Lodge. This event continues to grow in popularity and our thanks go to the Brethren of Derwentwater Lodge who put on a splendid day and all who took part.
