Dear Brethren and Companions
As most of you are aware when I accepted the positions of Provincial Grand Master and Grand Superintendent, I agreed upon a term of 5 years. That term finished in October last year but UGLE had not yet considered my successor, so I have remained in Office whilst they considered the position.
Serving you as Provincial Grand Master has been one of great honour and privilege and I have had the most tremendous support from yourselves and all those I have appointed to serve the Province over the last 6 years. Freemasonry does indeed produce a breed of men to whom honour, and virtue plays a great part in their everyday lives and each one of you epitomises those principles.
I have just received notice that from all those whom our leaders interviewed as my successor Nick Wilson our Provincial Grand Secretary and Scribe E has been chosen to serve as the next Provincial Grand Master and Grand Superintendent. I am sure you will join me in supporting him in any way you can.
United Grand Lodge and Supreme Grand Chapter are hoping to install Nick during the month of July after arrangements have been made for the installation ceremony at Carlisle. You will be kept informed when more details and a final date is received from London.
Once again you have my gratitude for all the support you have given me during my term of office as Provincial Grand Master, Grand Superintendent and all the previous offices I have held over the years.
Please ensure that this message is communicated to all your members.
My very best regards
Bill
