Earlier this month a cheque was presented to the Alzheimer’s Society at the Masonic Hall in Cockermouth. The cheque was presented to the area coordinator of the society, Phillipa, by Mrs Sam Reeves, the wife of the Master of Skiddaw Lodge. The Society was chosen by Master of the lodge, Bob Reeves as his charity for his year in office as his wife Sam, is living with the condition.
After she was diagnosed Bob looked for guidance and information and found the local branch of the Society based in Workington, who were very helpful to both him and Sam, as well as many others. The work they do is invaluable to those living with the condition and those caring for them. Phillipa and the others of the team are to be lauded for their work, showing knowledge, understanding, support and care.
Phillipa thanked the members of Skiddaw Lodge for their generosity and assured them the donation was very welcome and would be put to good use by the Society.
The Society has an office in Workington and can be contacted for help and support
