St John’s Lodge recently enjoyed a meaningful change from the usual agenda when the Lodge was called off and guests were welcomed into the temple for a short but very moving presentation from Breast Cancer Now, the UK’s leading breast cancer charity.
Worshipful Master, Kevin Baker, has a very personal connection to this cause, as his daughter has benefited from the charity’s support. The Lodge has already donated £500 to their life‑changing research and assistance.
It was also a special evening for Kim, the charity volunteer who delivered the excellent presentation. This was her first time undertaking this talk, made all the more poignant because she herself has received help from Breast Cancer Now.
After the presentation, members and guests enjoyed a wholesome buffet together — a simple but genuine demonstration of our ongoing commitment to Building Friendships and Serving Communities
