Lewis Chapter No 872 recently donated £100 to the Frizington Veterans’ Club to help them in their ongoing efforts with essential roof repairs. The Club has become a true community Hub with many local groups using the facility. The committee organises fundraisers to help the Schools, Churches and other groups within the village.
The Chapter decided to make a donation to the roof fund and this follows on from the club collecting several kilograms of ring pulls which were donated through the Province to the Purple Community Fund, supporting third world relief.
The cheque was handed over by the Chapter’s First Principal. Luke Jackson, accompanied by ADC Mark Edmiston. Club Chairman Gareth Cameron and Secretary Paul McCarron were deeply appreciative of the donation. Every amount helps in their efforts to sustain the future of the club which plays such an important role in the life of this local community.
