A bouncing result by East Lakes Freemasons

Friday 2nd August, The WM of Belted Will Lodge, W.Bro. Neil Dixon, accompanied by   Robert Bolton, Glyn Titterington, (East Lakes Group Chairman) and Joseph Jackson. Presented a Cheque for £1.500 to the Pupils, Head Teacher and staff of James Rennie School, in Carlisle. The money was raised during this years East Lakes 5 Mile Challenge walk. As this years winners of the walk Belted Will Lodge,chose to support this very special school. The Money will go towards a specially built floor level trampoline for Rebound Therapy.

Kris Williams, Head Teacher at the school said;

“Rebound therapy works for children with complex physical needs to engage in physical activity in a way that is supportive of their development and enables them. Rebound therapy also works with pupils with complex communication difficulties such as Autism, and encourages them to communicate through physical communication as well the more traditional spoken pathways.”

“The therapy aside some of our pupils just need to bounce! without this they can struggle to learn in the classroom, last and by no means least it’s fun too. The works for the project as you can imagine have to be extensive and very safe for our pupils”.

The East Lakes Challenge is a great example of local Freemasons working in their communities. Events like this rely of the support of those who take part and by doing so have helped to provide life changing education equipment for these children.
