Girl Guides flourish from local Freemasons

The Girl Guides at Wigton received a generous donation of £2,000 from the Solway group of Freemasons Freemasons.  Richard Benn, on behalf of the Solway group of Freemasons, made a socially distanced presentation to Alaina Harrison from the Girl Guides.

Alaina said, “the money was greatly appreciated and would be used to purchase supplies and craft materials, it will also allow the team to undertake many adventures, all building life skills”.

Richard Benn, group chairman said that “The Solway group were again very pleased to be supporting local youth projects. Girls take what they do in guiding with them as they grow up. Everything from working in a team to taking the lead, to speaking out on issues they care about. It helps them develop the skills and confidence to become the young women they want to be”.
