Last Friday, the head of Cumberland and Westmorland Freemasons Nick Wilson, accompanied by one of our Assistant Provincial Grand Masters attended the Provincial Grand Lodge meeting of the Isle of Man.
It was a wonderful occasion, but also one with a touch of sadness as the head of the Freemasons on the Isle of Man, Martin Blackburn announced his retirement as Provincial Grand Master and Grand Superintendent.
His retirement will take effect at the end of the year, with the Deputy Head (who also serves as Deputy Grand Superintendent) stepping in until a successor is appointed.
Martin has been a great friend to our Province, and we all wish him the very best for a long and happy retirement. We’re pleased that we’ll see him again at our Provincial Grand Lodge meeting next week, please take the chance to say farewell, for now😊
