During the course of our 2018/19 Masonic year our Provincial Grand Master launched what has proved to be a hugely successful initiative in ‘Provincial Matched Funding’ for a number of local charities chosen by each of our Provincial Groups. The Solway Group raised the maximum sum of £3,000 through generous donations from its constituent Lodges, a sum when matched by the Province enabled us to donate the princely sum of £6,000 to the charities chosen by Lodges of the Solway Group.
The donations made were as follows:
Aspatria First Responders £2,000
West Cumbria Hospice at Home £2,000
Maryport Inshore Rescue £1,000
Silloth Lifeboat £1,000
The presentations were made at the well supported Annual Meeting of Provincial Grand Lodge held on 17 October at the Sands Centre, Carlisle.
Congratulations to the recipients and also thanks to the PGM for launching the initiative and to all the members of Solway Group for their very kind donations in support of the cause.
