Just a few weeks ago a group of around 55 Wounded ,Bereaved and Veterans of the Grenadier Guards ascended Scafell Pike in the final part of their 3 Peaks Challenge, raising money for their Regimental Charity “The Col’s Fund”.
I am sure that you can imagine for the people with missing Limbs, Severe Head Injuries and Mental issues this was no “Walk in the Park”.
All went well and they succeeded in reaching the summit.
On return to their accommodation in Ambleside they had arranged for refreshments and a Buffet at the Golden Rule. The buffet was paid for with a donation from the Ambleside Lodge 2745 and funds left over were donated to their chosen Charity.
A couple of weeks later a Regimental Plaque was presented to Ambleside Lodge for their kind generosity by Bro Matthew Ellmer, Regimental Casualty Officer and present to receive it were the Charity Steward Malcolm Parsons, Master Elect John Wrennall and we were also Honoured with the attendance of the Provincial Grand Master William John Bewley.
